Weddings and Receptions
The Harkey House is not only a bed & breakfast inn, but also a delightful spot for weddings and
receptions. The house is a creamy yellow, classic Italian Victorian, built in 1874 as the home of Sheriff
William Harkey of Sutter County. In the back area, there is a wonderful brick patio with an arbor,
wooden deck, umbrella tables and a covered trellis providing shade with a CD sound system. Guests also get to
enjoy a spa, pool, fountains and rose garden.
The Country French Dining Room has a black and white tile floor, fountain, French antiques, oriental rug and high paned glass windows, providing light and privacy. The Living Room has a marble fireplace, comfortable seating, original artwork and a unique rosewood piano that traveled around the Cape.
Each guestroom and the cottage have a different theme and the entire house is fresh and inviting. All have
cable TV, CD players and phones. Wireless Internet and Fax are available. Note that this is a great spot
for special guests and to honeymoon as well.

Obtaining a Marriage License
A marriage license may be obtained by a pesron over the age of 18 appearing in person
in the office of the Sutter County Clerk. They ask that you arrive no later than
4:00pm to have a marriage license issued by 5:00pm. Couples will need to complete an
application and no blood test is required. A current picture ID is required by
each party. If dissolution has taken place in the last 80 days, you must bring a certified
copy of the final dissolution. More information is available by phoning the

Fees are $57 Regular License and $60 Confidential License.
Booking Details
Capacity: The facility will accomodate 25 guests inside and 150 guests outside.
Fees & Deposits: The outside patio fee for three hours is $650 and the five hours for wedding & reception use fee is $1500. Wedding inside rental fee is $550 for two hours and $1000 for four hours. Full payment is due one month prior to the event.
Guestroom Rates: Range from $90 - $185 for a single and $110 - $195 for a double, in addition to a 10% tax. All prices are subject to change.
Deposit Fee: An outside security deposit fee of $275 is required and an inside deposit fee of $500 is due two months prior to the event. Non-refundable reservation fee is $250.
Certificate of Insurance: Due one month before the event.
Cancellation Policy: A 50% refund will be given with one month's notice.
Availability: Everyday except December 24, 25 and January 1.
