DSutter Buttes Yuba-Sutter affords the visitor a varied menu. The immediate area has many rivers and lakes for fishing, boating, swimming, and skiing. Located two and a half hours from San Francisco and two hours from the Lake Tahoe area, Harkey House is a forty minute drive from Sacramento.

Outdoor and cultural activities abound year-round in the Marysville / Yuba City area. Along with the the Sutter Buttes ("The World's Smallest Mountain Range"), Yuba City is home of the Yuba City Downtown Summer Stroll and Punjabi Festival each year. Marysville hosts the Bok Kai Festival and the wildly fun Peach Festival. Challenging golf courses are located at Plumas Lake, Peach Tree, River Oaks, and Lake Wildwood. The Harkey House is walking distance from Downtown Yuba City, the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds, the Farmers Market and the Beckwourth riverfront park. A bike path along the Feather River begins within a block of the Harkey House, connecting residents to activities which are only a healthy journey away.

The Twin Cities Speedway and the Sleep Train Amphitheatre mark the growing entertainment attractions in the Yuba-Sutter area. The Twin Cities Speedway, already a popular attraction, will host renowned drivers throughout the season. The neighboring Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, less than three quarters of an hour away, will round out your motorsport experience during your stay at the Harkey House.

The Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council provides theatre, symphonies, and concerts for residents and tourists alike. The Renaissance Winery and Museum is located nearby in the lovely foothills of Oregon House, a small vibrant village 235 minutes away from Marysville.
